ABSTRACT

If the climate crisis has taught us anything, it’s that the human species exist within a vast web of reciprocal relationships. Yet to this day, the stories we put on stage often cling to a traditional structure that positions humans as the pinnacle of evolution, detached from their surroundings, and whose needs are paramount. If we hope to transition to a more just and sustainable future, a future where we all thrive, we need to break free from this outdated model and come up with new strategies. A good place to start might be to decenter ourselves and learn to take our rightful place as supportive characters in a story that is much bigger than us.
