When the challenges faced by a specialist group within a profession differ from those experienced by the wider profession, general advice and interventions are less acceptable and less effective. The difference between routine work undertaken by livestock vets and that of vets in small animal practice is demonstrative. This chapter describes a co-design process with livestock vets at the core. A package of web-based interventions which align to the needs of this specialist group will be outlined. The benefits of targeted design for a specialist group within a working population will be illustrated. This chapter describes the realities of engaging with a scattered population of vets, often on call, on farm or on the road and gives examples of engagement methods which worked better than others. We will include descriptive statistics for the use of the web resources and the feedback we have received from individual farm vets and professional associations.
