ABSTRACT

Consumers who strive for the longevity of the planet’s natural resources are more demanding and seek to engage themselves in events that provide them to experience innovative experiences and use cutting-edge technology, but which take sustainability into account. The new technologies recently introduced in Rock in Rio 2019 made it possible to increase the speed of task execution, the quality of the final product, the responsiveness of stakeholders, as well as the overall costs of operation. In the seven days of the event, it generated entertainment as well as 100TB of Internet data traffic. And the carbon footprint was not forgotten. Waste was managed so as to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible, and social responsibility actions were carried out for the benefit of society. This chapter aims to analyse the innovations that occurred in the latest edition of Rock in Rio Brazil, with regard to the technologies implemented by the event’s sponsoring stakeholders, how these technologies impacted the outcome of the event, generating entertainment and tourist movement. Although the event is consolidated in the calendar of country events, there is a lack of scientific research on the subject, which gives more originality and value to this chapter.
