ABSTRACT

In this trioethnography, we review our mentoring relationship which has spanned over 12 years and focus on the mentoring processes that led to our multiple transformations. We also explore our identity transformation as inherent in the mentoring for scholarly publication process through the initiation, cultivation, separation and redefinition phases. In our ethnographic conversations, we draw on the research on effective mentoring in graduate education and for scholarly publication. Our perspectives reflect the dynamic nature of working collaboratively and taking on multiple roles at different times.
