ABSTRACT

This reflection focuses on the experiences of a student in the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. In the chapter, the student discusses how the program began and how their inside-out course was structured. They also reflect on their initial thoughts going into the class and share stories from their experience. Throughout the chapter, they tie in their positionality and discuss how this experience has followed them throughout their undergraduate and graduate education. The experience was transformative in that it allowed them to change and challenge their own beliefs as well as discover new research interests.
