ABSTRACT
This chapter offers a critical overview of ongoing debates and controversies regarding the use of restrictive housing, while also introducing current policy interventions aimed at reforming this method of confinement. In doing so, this chapter provides a glimpse into the potential transformation of solitary confinement within the carceral system today.
