ABSTRACT

The chapter presents categories of contributors and stakeholders in value systems with associated value chains for performing arts. The author presents and comments on the stakeholders’ functions and relations in value systems. A division is made between recording-based production, the record industry, the artists, and everyone involved in live stage or streaming productions across artistic expression forms in performing arts.

Chapter 5 mentioned the necessity for business planning and, at the same time, the essential recognition of a lean methodology that is not linear. Chapter 6 then presents a basic sequential linear creative chain for cultural goods and services. The emphasis here is highlighted concerning supplementary models, which then display the importance of non-linearity and cyclic processes.

If we amalgamate music and the performing arts industries together—recordings, streaming formats, and live concerts will be the main products and services which contribute to these value systems. This chapter describes in succession three categories of stakeholders:

Creative providers: Co-creative individuals, autonomous music entrepreneurs, and creative producer entrepreneurs.

Potential partners and intermediaries: Media channels, event and PR agencies, and management companies.

Income sources, funding, consumption, and use: Various public and private funding sources, support schemes and employers, culture-supported events, employers from various organisations, schools and social institutions, open-payment events, reputational and relationship-building events, crowdfunding.
