ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to present a range of strategies that have been implemented by SMEs in response to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The study focuses on several industries (including manufacturing, recycling, education, transportation, bakeries, and on-line services) and employs a case-study methodology. The findings show that entrepreneurs apply different strategies that are adjusted to the specific conditions that have resulted from the crisis for particular industries as well as the capabilities of their enterprises. The chapter offers managerial implications that can be helpful for entrepreneurs in alleviating the impact of a crisis.
