ABSTRACT

Based upon recent findings of a study on the well-being of university students during the COVID-19 pandemic, who are sometimes referred to as the “lost generation,” this piece explores the positive impact of their participation in museums during the crisis. The study, held at the Grant Museum of Zoology in London, involved students interacting with museum objects and art materials to nurture hope and growth for their well-being. It includes an optimistic reinterpretation of museum collections and objects through symbolism and metaphor revealing the potential for health and healing, demonstrating both in-person and virtual response to well-being interventions during a time of crisis.
