ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the contemporary police workforce in Britain. It details recent advances and areas of good practice which have been identified to strengthen inclusion and to increase female recruitment and representation. The chapter also highlights contemporary developments and continuing challenges which the service is currently striving to address to fully achieve the goal of gender equality in British policing.
