ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects on the affordances and challenges involved in the transition to an online environment of a face-to-face course on writing for publication due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The course is an elective offered to final year students on the English teacher-training program of the Profesorado Superior de Inglés in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The chapter focuses on those pedagogical actions that fostered dialogues between the students and the teacher and among the students, aiming to unveil the complexities of the writing process and the intricacies of writing for publication. Following on the discussion of such actions and practices, the chapter also offers valuable lessons for future difficult circumstances. On the basis of the lessons learned in these challenging times, it closes with some practical advice to engage students in dialogue, encourage them to take responsibility, and foster collaboration.
