ABSTRACT
This entry deals with development-induced displacement in Northeast India. The displaced belong mostly to the tribal, Dalit, and other voiceless rural people. The displacement is mainly due to extractive industries like mines, tea, and hydro-power dams than industries proper. It concludes that the fruits of development seldom reach the local people.
