ABSTRACT
The Northeast India has become a literary hotspot in the recent times. In a way, this attention has somehow helped in re-imagining the heterogeneity of cultures that make up the land-locked region. The multilingual groups with myriad storytelling traditions feed the creative minds with ready metaphors. And yet, there is much to understand about the literary traditions that thrive in the region, from the written to the oral.
