ABSTRACT

The growing role of the Internet as the main source of gaining news about the world has made articles in newspapers and weekly magazines more and more important to the public debate, but comments on portals, social media profiles, videoblogs or emotional selfies. One of the most common methods of manipulation in the media is information distortion and disinformation. Manipulation is a process consisting of a specific sequence of treatments, which makes it easier to influence someone else’s decisions. Disinformation and imposing emotional perception of reality serve the purpose of the aggressor. Disinformation is the deliberate creation and dissemination of false or manipulated information intended to deceive and mislead the public, either for the purpose of harming or for political, personal or financial gain. Disinformation as a systemic tool is a modern invention of mankind than propaganda.
