ABSTRACT

The wider definition of the optimisation of processes within a supply chain is supply chain management, which is defined as the management of upstream and downstream relationships with suppliers and customers to deliver superior customer value at less cost to the supply chain as a whole. Supply chains which run through many countries on different continents will be the most vulnerable in the event of global disruptions. The model created based on certain assumptions and limitations can be tested and verified during further research on real chains and will constitute the basis for forecasts and decisions regarding the chain structure. To the general model of disruption, threats were introduced originating from phenomena typically associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, assuming that the waves predicted in the near future will force us to analyse the susceptibility of the respective supply chains again and again.
