ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an attempt at a multivariate comparative analysis of passenger air transport in seven regions of the world in terms of the impact of COVID-19 on this sector of the economy and the economic security. The purpose of the conducted multivariate analysis was to determine regular patterns and then to compare them to changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and to look at the number of global air passengers in terms of the broadly understood economic security. Transport is undoubtedly a key element in the provision of services in the field of moving material and human resources in the supply chain. In the literature on the subject, transport is considered as a system category, the purpose of which is the movement of passengers and cargo. It is defined by the type, number and features of the objects transported, as well as transportation routes and its quality parameters.
