ABSTRACT

Currently, more and more emphasis is placed on the security of information systems. Password authentication is increasingly being replaced by biometric authentication, which is based on the unique characteristics of the human body and its behavior. In this context, new methods are appearing all the time that differ according to what is measured on the person or how the measured data is processed. A large field is hand-based biometric identification and authentication, which is currently highly developed. The goal of this contribution is to formulate current challenges in the field of hand-based biometrics based on thorough research that should be addressed in the future.
