ABSTRACT
The chapter examines the situation of internal migrants in India, along with current policy environment for the welfare of migrants. Migrants’ mobility and related health issues are discussed in the chapter, along with exiting health programs, policies and challenges. Current gaps in the policies are discussed in detail to address migrants’ health and related needs. Recommendations are made to enable the government to facilitate appropriate policy to improve the health and status of the migrants.
