ABSTRACT

In this chapter, three different entrepreneurial community initiatives are explored in rural Nebraska. Each case study reflects a different stage in the entrepreneurial community process, from programs just starting up to programs that are advanced and highly functioning. The University of Nebraska Extension Service has played a major role in developing entrepreneurs and appropriate cultures to support entrepreneurial communities. Characteristics of each community’s local and subsequent program are explored, highlighting the similarities and differences that make each one unique. Concluding lessons learned create areas for more discovery to occur.
