ABSTRACT

This chapter will explore if and why resilience from the frontline needs to be transferred to resilience in the strategy offices. While many leaders today make decisions on climate resilience, risk resilience, and employee resilience, what lessons in resilience can we learn from volunteers around the world who have dealt with uncertainty, change, risk, and compromise on the frontlines and have built resilience beyond what corporate resilience training programs offer? The volunteers include a variety of individuals, organizations, and communities who are involved in social service work.
