ABSTRACT

In order for participation to be sustainably embedded in services, we require systemic culture change. This is the argument made by this chapter. It begins by discussing the argument for this statement, and then moves on to present an argument surrounding the need to use a quality improvement methodology to get us there. It uses the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme as a case study to illustrate these points and concludes with advice for services on how to achieve such culture change.
