ABSTRACT

This book describes how technology can make a distinct and lasting contribution to improving dementia care. It is the culmination of the work of 15 early-stage researchers funded through a European Union Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network award. Two very innovative aspects of the work include our unique training programme and our wide range of patient and public involvement activities. The three main research themes, technology in everyday life, technology to promote meaningful activities and healthcare technology, are complemented by three practical crosscutting themes looking at practical, cognitive and social factors to improve usability, effectiveness of technology and implementation of technology in dementia care. This work has culminated in our Best Practice Guidance. We hope that this book will improve research, practice and care.
