ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study is to provide new insights into the ways in which practices of supply chain management (SCM) are employed to promote sustainable development in accordance with the Maqasid al-Shari’ah principles that are found in Islam. The SCM practices (e.g., resources, information, integration, and relationship practices) provide support for the promotion of maslaha for all human beings, which is congruent with the goals of Maqasid al-Shari’ah principles for sustainable development. It offers some direction to aid the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly among Muslim nations, through the SCM techniques that they have in place. There haven’t been many studies that take an Islamic viewpoint and look at SCM techniques to see how they affect sustainable development. As a result, the purpose of this study is to provide new insights into the ways in which SCM methods are utilized to promote sustainable development in accordance with the principles of Maqasid al-Shari’ah. When analyzed through the Islamic perspective that focuses on the objective of providing value to mankind, certain SCM practices are consistent with Maqasid al-Shari’ah. This is particularly true when the practices in question are examined.
