ABSTRACT

This study explores the opportunities and challenges related to providing halal logistics services. The focus of the study is on a Muslim-majority country – Bangladesh. It is a qualitative study. The study conducted in-depth interviews with company executives with experience managing supply chains. Although Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country with a high demand for halal products, it was discovered that both customers and business organizations are generally unaware of the issues surrounding halal logistics. The issue of halal-certified business operations is still not prevalent. Lack of monitoring is one of the main problems. The interviewees highlighted that halal logistics has good prospects, and this issue needs to be popularized. Moreover, training and education are required to implement halal logistics in Bangladeshi companies. For businesses and other stakeholders that decide to expand into halal logistics in Bangladesh, the study may assist them in sorting out the practical implications.
