ABSTRACT

Continuous improvement has been a key element in the success of the implementation of quality initiatives and quality management systems. The implementation and adoption of continuous improvement have been widely discussed among researchers and practitioners. The epistemological aspect of Islam determines and outlines concepts which are suitable to be implemented toward Muslim society. This chapter outlines the continuous improvement based on Islamic perspectives, which focus on the epistemological aspect. The outcomes of this study have support from the existing theoretical and empirical studies, produce a set of themes for an Islamic concept of continuous improvement, and are likely to propose a more holistic continuous improvement concept based on Islamic epistemological perspectives.
