ABSTRACT
ECOSOC is the principal body to promote co-operation, policy review and debate on economic, social, environmental and humanitarian issues, and on the implementation of internationally agreed sustainable development objectives. The Bureau, with responsibility for formulating the agenda and programme of work for the Council, is elected by the Council at its first meeting of the year. The Council undertakes a co-ordinating function between the UN and its specialized agencies, and also offers a forum for dialogue on sustainable development issues with policymakers, non-governmental organizations, foundations, academics and the private sector. The 2022 Youth Forum was convened as a virtual event in April, with participation by young delegates including business people, students and representatives of youth organizations. The initiative had the following three focal areas: contactless solutions and good practices; maximizing seamless connectivity; and propagating collaborative solutions for transport, trade and logistics operations.
