ABSTRACT

The conclusion draws some key conceptual contributions of the book through the short theoretical and methodological comparisons between the findings reported in the volume’s case studies. It presents a conceptual framework grounded on these results to understand the contemporary toponymic picture of the post-Soviet states and to provide a more comprehensive engagement with the (geo)politically motivated toponymic processes that constitute regional interrelationships between the place names, power, population, and cultural landscapes. This concluding segment also discusses the potential directions of the political toponymic research in this geographical realm.
