ABSTRACT
The chapter will discuss key considerations in developing applied programs, innovative approaches that are supported in an applied setting, and evidence-based examples that utilize those approaches. The chapter offers guidance for others seeking to create or expand an applied program. The focus will center more on best practices with program description, content development, instructional design, curriculum, faculty tips, students, rather than on the funding or overall administration of such programs.
