ABSTRACT
This chapter fully discusses the reasons for the law of personality rights as a standalone part of the Civil Code of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), arguing that this is not only necessary to effectively respond to technological progress and social development but also a requirement for the comprehensive protection of human dignity.
