ABSTRACT

This chapter describes best practices that evolved in ITE in different states – Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal – across learning settings both formal and informal. The chapter has various subsections, each narrating ITE ground implementing experiences, including opportunities and challenges in three states. This geographical and cultural diversity of implementation sites generated new insights for ITE implementation and strategies for mitigating challenges. Although the implementation strategies adapted and changed across geographies and settings, the learner-centred pedagogy of ITE stayed intact in the underserved contexts.
