ABSTRACT

This final chapter frames the larger context of what causes errors, the better to avoid making them in the future. This is especially important, since feedback is important to clinical neuropsychology trainees, yet mistakes are not a common topic of discussion in supervision. The chapter seeks to narrow down the likely causes of failure. These are discussed under the headings of: Grow your knowledge base; No piece is the whole jigsaw; and Step back, and look at the big picture. These issues are discussed in the context of errors as producing skills acquired based on feelings.
