ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 brings together the guidelines for analytical journalism. It includes exercises of different complexity for the discipline, approach and the five phases. These exercises are designed to fit the deliberative, explanatory and rhetorical parts of a meta-report, whose didactic function is to help achieve the objectives of the strategies in the five phases. The chapter describes an exam assignment, which includes the meta-report and journalistic products. It gives an assessment template for grading the analytical journalism. This collection of practical tools only makes sense in relation to the arguments about the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of analytical journalism set out in the previous chapters of the book.
