ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on sustainable managerial considerations of relevance to sport for development (SFD). It also examines the ways in which organisations plan for and deliver SFD programming, with key considerations being explored in relation to program design and staffing arrangements. Notions of leadership are also examined, with the roles and responsibilities of change agents being key areas of focus, in addition to critical aspects of volunteering in SFD. Resourcing is also considered, with the understanding that many SFD organisations function within resource-constrained environments. A final focus is placed on the ways in which those working in SFD can foster sustainable management practices via their various approaches to funding and partnerships in SFD settings.
