ABSTRACT
The applicability of the transmigrant metaphor along with the frame of multiple contracts is examined. Complementary theoretical and methodological approaches are suggested. First, broadening the comparative framework beyond the Euro-American context where most research has been carried out. Second, using approaches that combine quantitative and qualitative research methods. Third, developing analyses of trust between reservists and regulars.
