ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the sense of security linked with socio-political-cultural processes taking place both on a global scale and in Poland. Current political actions, building narratives of the Other as an enemy society should be defended against, are included alongside the historical perspective. The aim is to examine phenomena both representing a threat to the sense of security and providing hope for developing a world of social relations, where responsible care and cooperation of state institutions, social organizations, politicians and citizens are valued. Psychotherapists face the challenge of actively participating in social life and the readiness to undertake steps to develop social change.
