ABSTRACT
Social equity is a pillar of public administration. Public administration education programs like Master of Public Administration degrees prepare the administrators of today and tomorrow in the provision of important public and nonprofit services, so it is essential that such programs help prepare administrators to understand and contribute to promoting social equity. This chapter reviews the history of social equity and key institutional players and introduces the chapters.
