ABSTRACT
In this volume, we have presented a range of case studies that demonstrate the diversity of state responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Asia-Pacific as governments sought to protect their societies. These responses are all different, and some were more effective than others, but in the end, all states and all societies have had to learn to move from strategies of ‘COVID elimination’ to ‘COVID suppression’ to policies of adjusting to the omnipresent threat (including for those vaccinated) of infection with the COVID virus.
