ABSTRACT

Society’s digital transformation is changing the way we interact and the behavioural patterns derived therefrom. Individuals spend several hours per day using various online services and applications to carry out daily tasks, such as shopping, arranging medical appointments or requesting government allowances. These activities entail daily interaction with other individuals and elements in the digital universe. In the current digital context, along with new paradigmatic social phenomena, such as disinformation, gentrification or the increase of loneliness, deviant behaviours derived from such a context are also emerging, which were already observed in the offline reality and which are now increasing in the online universe. Some of these behaviours include cybersex, cyberbullying, phishing or cybergrooming. At the same time, technology offers great opportunities for the development and creation of solutions for social work never seen before.
