ABSTRACT

With the continued evolution of industry related gig work, the field of sexuality has embraced the professional practice of hiring professionals to complete specific tasks for shorter periods of time. Some gig professionals could be considered entrepreneurs as they work for themselves and seek contracts with employers that allow them the freedom and flexibility to meet professional goals. This chapter articulates how gig work may be constructed for sexuality professionals and several considerations for engaging with companies in a manner that is fulfilling. Sexuality training programs should consider creating or adopting business courses that can help constituents think through and create individualized business plans for sustained gig work practices.
