ABSTRACT

When we launched our podcast, Academics of PA, in the spring of 2019, we did so with the intent to learn more about the personal and procedural aspects of contemporary public administration scholarship. Through unsystematic, broadcast interviews we wanted to explore the people behind the research to understand the motivations and processes that contributed to their scholarly and career trajectories. We also sought to explore new topics in public administration and to understand how the field is adapting. The conversations we had revealed insights about the academic enterprise, the processes of writing, mentorship, and managing one’s career.
