ABSTRACT

As coteachers and coresearchers we gaze reflectively upon our lived experience throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. With the conception of this chapter, we have the opportunity to remember and encapsulate thoughts of our respective and shared experience; recognise and appreciate our felt sense of emotions working full-time day jobs while coteaching college students in New York. Being transparent in recalling images of events and identifying their attached emotions, we hope to model the power of shared vulnerability in letting go of harmful ego and fragmentation to embrace the wholeness of our being which exists in our collective humanity. Based on this inquiry into what we have learned individually/collectively, we ask what might be of value in supporting us and a compassionate and social justice pedagogy as we move forward beyond COVID-19.
