ABSTRACT

The chapter delves into the two most important aspects of Israel-India relations, national defense and arms sales, as well as how India’s relations with Iran affect this relationship. It investigates the historical, political, and strategic reasons for India’s engagement with Israel and Iran over time. The chapter then provides a detailed examination of India and Israel’s defense and security cooperation, including military technology transfer and joint weapon system development. In conclusion, there is a discussion of the prospects for India-Israel defense and security cooperation, with the acknowledgment that, while India has reasons to keep up with Iran, independent relationships with the two regional adversaries will keep the balance.
