ABSTRACT

The Practical, Robust Implementation and Sustainability Model (PRISM) is a determinant framework. This chapter presents three case studies where this framework is applied. PRISM was developed based on a literature review that sought to identify studies concerning determinants of implementation success. This was combined with the authors’ own experience regarding concepts that they considered relevant for the development of the framework. Six types of determinants, referred to as elements, are identified in the PRISM framework: Programme (intervention), organizational perspective; Programme (intervention), patient perspective; External environment; Implementation and sustainability infrastructure; Recipients, organizational characteristics; and Recipients, patient characteristics.
