ABSTRACT

Social distancing norms will become commonplace in future as human populations become more susceptible to zoonotic infections and spread of pandemics. Therefore, it is pertinent to build and upgrade the housing infrastructure in our cities. Furthermore, housing systems are organising the possibilities of care at the household and social scale. Envisaging housing as a non-institutional infrastructure of care is critical to foster care practices and supplement healthcare infrastructure in the post-Covid-19 city. It would make us better prepared to deal with pandemics in future and make our housing systems more inclusive, healthy, and robust.
