ABSTRACT
Holocaust deniers on the antisemitic extreme right have an echo on the ‘antizionist’ extreme left: Holocaust falsifiers who seek to implicate ‘Zionist’ Jews in the persecution and genocide of their own people by Nazi Germany. Originating in Soviet antisemitic propaganda, the myth of Zionist–Nazi ‘collaboration’ was adopted by fringe activists in democratic countries. This chapter examines manipulations of facts and evidence by two of the most prominent mythmakers, American author Lenni Brenner and British politician Ken Livingstone. Both figures are shown to have twisted the tragedy of the Jewish people in the service of an ‘antizionist’ world view congenial to antisemites.
