ABSTRACT
Coaches and support staff are now a common feature of the esports landscape. This chapter examines the role of the coach and relevant research, providing insights into their primary responsibilities, and detailing some best-practice approaches to effective coaching. This chapter further explores some of the commonalities in coaches’ career paths to date and discusses developmental opportunities going forward. Examples from current professional coaches are also shared.
