ABSTRACT
Esports is a digital and global phenomenon, thus competitive organisations have access to a vast pool of talent. But what do we know about finding talent within this pool, and once talented players are found, how can we ensure that they flourish? Equally, given the potential for intercultural exchange and international travel, can a career in esports offer more than competitive success? This chapter considers the research, opportunities, and challenges related to talent identification and development in esports.
