ABSTRACT

Covid-19 has affected the lives and livelihood of people around the globe. Past experiences shows that crises are never gender-neutral, and Covid-19 is no exception. Women, belonging to a marginalised section of the society, face an even higher risk of Covid-19 infection, increased violence, loss of livelihood etc. Despite of their incomparable services to the society, they are being stigmatised and facing several attacks in this pandemic.

Apart from this, Covid-19 has adversely affected the mental health of people, particularly women. Women are at higher risk of mental illness compared to men.

In this article the authors have made an attempt to identify the hidden impact of Covid-19 on women and violation of their human rights. In this article authors have also given some useful suggestions to effectively deal with the current situation.
