ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and has had significant psychological and social effects on the population. India’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic has relied heavily upon them for outreach to communities, delivery of relief, surveillance and taking up and maintaining essential service delivery. The frontline workers have indeed been actively involved in minimising the spread of Covid-19 or its treatment thereof. India has been seeking to boost its healthcare system for decades and the pandemic has brought forth the limitations and challenges we face. Despite these adversities, the frontline workers have been present and working every single day since the onset of the pandemic. Women have worked tirelessly in providing access to humanitarian aid, social services and healthcare. The world witnessed women volunteers carrying out awareness sessions on mental health and recovery from the crisis. Women have outdone themselves by being effective leaders in times of need.
