ABSTRACT

The impact of the novel Covid-19 has testified to the capacity of the whole world. The healthcare system is the most affected dimension. The most essential workforce, that is, nurses, explicitly exhibited their expertise and skillsets to control the spread of disease, as well as providing care to the infected individuals. The unseen circumstances of Covid-19 raised challenges like lack of awareness and knowledge, safety of the family members of health team members, physical exhaustion and accidents while working in the Covid unit, psychosocial issues experienced by nurses, challenges related to documentation and coordination among healthcare team members and higher authorities. The paper discusses the measures taken to overcome the issues and challenges. However, challenges provided an opportunity to expand the horizon of innovation and thinking out of the box, leading to a win over the Covid situation. Finally, it is time for some substantive reforms at institutional levels and improvising practices to offer specialised care for infectious patients like Covid-19.
